Stephen Hough’s Porridge


Use steel-cut or pinhead Irish Oatmeal. Two level tablespoons into a bowl and add raisins, pumpkin (or similar) seeds, and nuts if you like. I’ve added Smarties or M&Ms too on occasion. Cover with four times the amount of water and microwave for five minutes. Stir and microwave for another five minutes. Serve with oat milk if you’re behaving, single cream if not … and a drizzle of maple syrup if you’re alone in the house and have lost all self-respect. Chew well, then floss.
