Lise Davidsen’s Norwegian Waffles


Makes approximately 6 waffles

You need:

4 eggs

6 tablespoons sugar

150 gr. butter (melted)

0,4 litre milk

300 gr. flour

1 tablespoon cardamom

One Norwegian waffle iron (Does not work with Belgian waffle iron)


Whip together eggs and sugar in a bowl and slowly add milk and butter. Make sure the butter is not too hot after melting it.

Then you slowly add all the dry ingredients and stir it into a smooth batter.

Let it rest for twenty minutes and then it’s ready for the iron!

Serve with whipped cream and berries or your favourite ice cream.

My first choice is the Norwegian “brown cheese”, so if you can get it I would definitely give it a try.
